Vaaro privacy policy

Last updated: 7 September 2026

This policy is for the Vaaro app, a shared cleaning roster for people who live together. You create a house or join one with an invite code.

Who we are

Vaaro is published by the developer named on the App Store and Google Play listings. It is meant for people who share a house, not a public social network.

What we collect

The house name, room names, first names you type, which room each person is in, chore rules you set, and which person this phone belongs to (kept on that phone).

Chore records: who is assigned, whether a job is done, who marked it done, whether someone told the house they cannot do a job, and makeup / 2× records.

An anonymous ID from Google Firebase so this phone can sync. We do not ask for an email, phone number, or password. Houses are not listed; other people need your 8-character invite code to join.

What we do not collect

We do not collect location, contacts, photos, or payment details. There are no ads, and we do not sell data.

How we use it

To show the roster, keep phones in the same house in sync, send reminders and house pings on the device, and apply the missed-job makeup rule.

Where it is stored

On the phone, and in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and anonymous Authentication) so the other phones in the house stay in sync. Google processes this as our cloud provider.

Who sees it

Anyone who installs Vaaro and joins the same house with the invite code can see the names, rooms, rules, and chore records on that board.

Notifications

Night-before reminders, morning reminders, and “someone finished / told the house” pings stay on the device. We do not use push-notification servers.

Keeping or deleting data

You can change names, rooms, and rules in House, and leave a house on this phone. Chore records stay until someone in the house updates them. To ask for house data to be removed from the cloud, email engineeringvaala@gmail.com.

Children

This app is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top.
